THE NEW FORTY 
HI is beautiful, idyllic, with rain that falls politely at night. CA climate is not all that much different, except that the rain falls not at all. Of course CA has the distinct emotional advantage of not being 6 hours by jet from a continent. I take it you never got rock fever. Next Pacific island I visit will be Japan. Hope you can build a little bit of HI into your Florida Room, if that project ever gets off the dream table.
