Today – a bronze medal for the team.

Today was a good day.

I’d have to say that my team earned a bronze medal in the Grandma Olympics.

They say it takes a village to raise a child.

I say sometimes it takes a team to help a grandma win the bronze.

My team: me, Mike, and Cheyenne.

I imagine most folks would prefer a gold medal.

I just hoped to arrive at a place where I felt like I was holding my own in the world of grandmas.

Sure I had some help, but that just means I use the resources available to me wisely.

Tomorrow is the closing ceremony of the Grandma Olympics.

Just when I was hitting my stride.

No more toddler chatter every morning and every night.

No more navigation of daycare drop-offs and pick-ups.

No more full-time toddler care.

Tomorrow I go back to my regular schedule and status.

I will miss spending so much time with Lennon.

I will welcome getting back to my regular sleep schedule.

Most importantly, I will be ready for the next time I have this opportunity…well, me and my team. πŸ˜‰
