My grandson Lennon has now fully mastered the most important word he will ever utter – grandma. Mike was sure that his utterance of Pop Pop was more meaningful, and no doubt it was to Mike. But my darling boy can say a thousand other words – from no to absolutely – and never will they mean as much as when he says grandma.
Sure, I may be a bit biased. I can admit that grandma may not be the most important word that all grandchildren utter. But it is the most important word my grandchildren will utter because no one will ever love them the special way their grandma will.
I wish I knew how much grandmothers loved their grandchildren when I was young. Back then, I did not understand the special love that grandmothers hold. Now that I am a grandma I know what that love is.

So Lennon has mastered grandma and while he may not know now how important a word that is now, he will in time. The point is, I know how important it is. 😉

Ms. C
Bless your heart, Ms. C. Grandma love rocks! Though I am not sure all Grandmas feel it. Mine didn’t. You’re special. But watch out, I am sure you know how quick owning your name and your heart turns the word into the phrase, “Grandma, I want …” Grandma, I need … Grandma, could we get … My mom, now a poly-grandma, always said, “Kids need to hear ‘No!’ early and often.” When the No’s begin, Grandma won’t seem like such a precious word. But I’m sure Lennon will be an angel and sooner than you think, you’ll be having your “Hey, Jude” moment. The minute you let her under your skin, then you begin to make it better.
