I love being able to do the work I do. It is work that I am privileged to do and I am honored to be able to contribute to the emergency management community. Alas, it often requires travel and too much travel can get old.
I am a Cancer – as in, that is my astrological sign. Cancers are said to be homebodies. I think there is some truth in that. I enjoy travelling, but I always look forward to coming home.
I am reminded of the phrase – be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home. No matter where I go or where I stay – I love being home best. And by home I mean more than just my house, I mean being back in my state – North Dakota. Other places may be nice to visit, but they are not this place.
I am back home – back in the state and on my couch in my living room writing this blog; and, home in my humble abode is where I plan on staying for awhile. And that my friends, is a good thing. 😉

Loving to be home is such a wonderful toe-wiggling feeling! When we built our house in 1972 I did all the painting (inside and out) and all the woodwork finishing–MILES of it. I feel like it’s my one child that stayed put–and we’re cruising into the sunset together (in a somewhat raggedy condition). There are a lot of memories here, in the house and in the small town nearby and I’ve loved every day of it.
