I am out in Emmitsburg, Maryland this week at FEMA’s annual Emergency Management Higher Education Conference. I have come to this conference every year since 2004 – nine years straight now. Every year when I first arrive on the campus (at the Emergency Management Institute-EMI) I take a deep breath. It is like breathing in the rarest air for me – this place has become such a part of me over the years and this conference and the people who attend it are, as I have said before, my people – my tribe.
Today, I share a few photos of the campus for those of you who have never had the opportunity to visit. Of course they are Carol-esque photos – so trees and clouds will dominate. I think even given that proviso you will get the picture – it is beautiful here.
