Death by PowerPoint – not always a homicide…

Have you ever heard the saying – death by Powerpoint?   I always thought it was something that was inflicted upon you, but today I have been working on putting together two PowerPoint presentations for next week and I now realize it can be self-inflicted.  Slide designs, color schemes, animation, photos, consistency in size and font, and on top of all that that they are supposed to have some meaningful content.

Typically I enjoy my arts and crafts for grownups – as Martha would say, "It’s a good thing."  Today I think I have had enough of a good thing.  I actually took a break to do housework as it seemed more appealing to dust and do laundry…now that is a statement my friends.  What’s next – jogging around the block?  That should be enough to get a news crew out.

I think it is time for me to save my sorry soul by going to bed and leaving the two PowerPoints to sit for a solid eight hours. Surely they’ll look better in the light of a new day and I’ll be able to wrap them up quickly with a fresh brain…but, if you see me on the news jogging you’ll know the story didn’t quite end the way I imagined it.

Day two hundred and forty-four of the new forty – obla di obla da

  1. Things always do seem to look better in the morning. I love making PowerPoints. Of all the Office products that’s the one I like the best.
