Today, I would like to acknowledge the sad loss of NDSU freshman Tommy Bearson and send my condolences to his family and friends. I, along with so many others, fervently hoped for a different outcome. I know that there will be little solace for those who grieve Tommy’s loss, but I hope that they will be able to find some peace in their memories of him.
Leo Buscaglia once said, “I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.”

God’s speed Tommy Bearson. May you dance every day with the angels.
