I have been known to quip that I only have a kitchen because it came with the house, but the truth is I do use it daily for important functions like making coffee, microwaving things, storing my refrigerator, and cooking a meal here and there. I don’t possess a lot of fancy cooking equipment and I definitely don’t own an apron. I did own a few aprons once upon a time…back in the day when I was a young wife and mother. I have moved on from aprons without regret. I would guess that the majority of folks are with me on this one.
So when I saw the below Vera Wang design on clearance at Kohl’s all I could do was shake my head and utter under my breath, “Vera, Vera, Vera.”
I ask you dear readers – do you see what I see? I see an apron-inspired sparkle top; and, sorry Vera – I understand why it is on clearance. This top is so very Donna Reed-esque in a day and age when fewer and fewer people know who Donna Reed is. I have to wonder what Vera was going for with this – maybe attire for Celebrity Chef or a guest appearance on Martha Stewart’s television show.
Sorry Vera – I like your spunk as a designer – but you lost me at the apron look. 😉
