Our Big Adventure…

I don’t have a smart phone.  There are a couple of reasons for that.  First, I surmise I am not smart enough to operate one (which says something about me which probably is the opposite of  smart); second, I don’t want to be that connected all the time as I know I will become addicted and annoying to others.  However, as I sit here in Wakefield, Canada this evening in the outdoor cafe typing my blog (as this is the only place there is internet connectivity) I am wishing I was a bit smarter.

Really, but for my blog I don’t think I would die without the connection.  I may see my email pile up and miss reading the newspaper online, but I am confident I would be okay…but missing the opportunity to write my daily blog, well that is another story.  It is about 9:30 PM in Wakefield now and the cafe is dark having closed at 7:30 PM.  Luckily my keyboard is lighted and I am determined.  My son and I are staying in a room that is attached to the cafe/restaurant, so it is just a short walk down the hill to the cafe tables.

Noah and I are in Wakefield to see his children and my grandchildren (Noah Jr. and Cortney).  The trip has already been quite the interesting experience.  For those of you who are Oprah fans I have already dubbed this our Oprah and Gayle’s Big Adventure.  I, of course, am Oprah’s friend Gayle – the funloving, happy-go-lucky, people person.  Noah is Oprah – a sometimes testy and impatient diva ( I love ya’ Oprah, but I gotta’ be real).   I have much to share with you about the trip thus far, but am thinking that it will have to wait until the  sun comes up and the mosquitoes diminish.

In the meantime know that I may be more challenged in my accessibility to my blog in Wakefield, but I won’t be deterred and I refuse to be negative…but like I said, I am Gayle. 😉
