Sleeping with…my fire extinguisher

Well another day of four airports: Harrisburg, Cincinnati, Minneapolis and Fargo.  I rolled out of bed at 6:00 AM in Emmitsburg and rolled into my driveway in West Fargo at about 9:30 PM.  It has been a long day, but as always – it was nothing if not eventful. Alas, I am worse for the wear and it will require the sum total of my wits to detail some of the day’s highlights – such as my unintended trip to the men’s room at the airport; as such, that will have to wait for tomorrow.

So tonight before I go to bed I thought I would share with you a photo of a safety-focused pin that they sell in the National Emergency Training Center gift shop (remember they have both the Emergency Management Institute and the National Fire Academy at that location).

They also sell t-shirts with the same safety message.  Yeah…well, I know one too many firefighters to believe that “sleeping” with one is the key to my safety (and because I know one too many firefighters I know that there would be no rest in the endeavor).  If I want to be safe I’ll sleep with a fire extinguisher thank you very much.  I am well-equipped here…I don’t need any firefighter around to put out a fire.   However, if one of the New York firefighters that pose on the annual calendar want to come over and light my fire I will put my fire extinguisher back in the closet. 😉

Day six hundred and six of the new forty – obla di obla da
