Slushy anyone?

I am in my office today writing this blog over my lunch 15 minutes as my internet at home is not functioning and I am suddenly acutely aware that I may be a bit behind.  I base this present conclusion solely on the fact that my calendar is still on the month of January (although there are literally dozens of other indicators that serve as evidence of said fact).

So today I am reflecting upon where the first seven weeks of the year went and questioning whether this is a case of time flies when you are having fun or my mind has left the building…or perhaps a bit of both.  I distinctly remember the first day of the year and the first day of the semester.  I also have a healthy list of other memories in that time span as well, but they are not linear in nature.  It is more like seven weeks of activities in a blender…now it is more a slushy concoction with only a few visible and identifiable chunks (and yes, writing my blog over my 15 minute lunch does result in food references – what can I say – I am transparent like that).

So what is there to do when the last seven weeks is the equivalent of a mental slushy?  Well, with only 10 minutes left of my 15 minute lunch I am thinking the most timely approach is to change the calendar page to February and go grab something for lunch that I can consume quickly and with little effort.  Suddenly something slushy seems quite appealing.  As for my calendar…well, the February page may be up there for awhile seeing as I have just now arrived in the month.

What is that you are asking me? What year is it?  What year is my calendar?

Oh, dear…make that 59 weeks in a blender…and a slushy for lunch. 😉

Day five hundred and ninety-six of the new forty – obla di obla da
