Tonight I will dress up as a hippie chick and experience my first Halloween in San Antonio, Texas. I am a little afraid though of spending too much time celebrating the wild and free sixties in a place where cute cowboys abound. Fortunately, my friend Mary will be with me to help keep me out of trouble or at least to be the witness for the wedding ceremony – whichever. 😉
Cheyenne is going to a Halloween party at her Grandpa’s house this year. She is going to be a hippie nerd. This is a creation of her own design (and yes her mom chose to be a hippie this year and her sister chose to be a nerd but I honestly don’t believe that had the slightest bearing on her choice). I can’t wait to see photos of her costume – she explained her costume components to me, but it was hard to visualize. Perhaps I am going to be a hippie nerd as well without even trying. If that is the case I should at least be able to avoid a quickie Texas marriage.
The jack-o-lanterns above were carved by Sarah, Dusty and Cheyenne. Cheyenne’s is the cat in the middle. It is good to see she has higher level skills than her mom. I am still on the pumpkin carving 101 level (yep – triangles). Me, a big knife and an excuse to slice into something…no, no, no…bad idea. All I can be trusted to do today is to wish you all a lovely and safe Halloween. 🙂
