Lovely Rita…

Yesterday a very special young lady entered the world…a dear girl that we have been waiting patiently for…lovely baby Rita.  Baby Rita is my brother and sister-in-law’s first daughter.  She joins my nephews, Paul and Danny, who are both teens and is the first girl grandchild on Narin’s side of the family.  Plus, she is named after her maternal grandma who has been over the moon excited about her impending birth.

My brother has been teasing Grandma Rita that with the birth of baby Rita, she will be relegated to the title of “Big Rita” – yeah, that wasn’t received too well.  I suggested at the Armenian baby shower that baby Rita shall come to be known as “Princess Rita” while Grandma Rita will remain, “Queen Rita” – that received a better reception than my brother’s suggestion (I had to do what I could to redeem the family name after my brother’s obvious faux pas).

It was a long journey for Narin and Jeff to get to this point with years of heartbreak along the way, but that is all fading into the background now with the vision of baby Rita’s adorable little face. I just want to fly there tomorrow to touch those little cheeks!

Welcome to the world my lovely niece…oh the things I will teach you about being fierce and fun-loving and independent…and the medication I will buy your father so that he can settle his nerves when you come into your own! 😉

Day four hundred and seventy-nine of the new forty – obla di obla da
