Big dog – small dog

Just sharing a brief image I caught tonight while waiting patiently at a stop light in West Fargo that gave me a bit of a laugh.  The image was that of a man running with two dogs – one rather large dog that was extending ahead of the man by a few paces and the second a much smaller dog running for all he was worth to stay a few paces behind the man.  The man was clumsily running and panting a bit to keep up with the big dog and as such the image was – big dog…panting man…smaller dog running for his life.

My thought as I sat there at the light and watched this intriguing trio is what that poor smaller dog was thinking.  Do you suppose he understood the dynamic that would evolve when he was excited to start his walk (which when I viewed it was more like a cantor)?  Do you suppose he will recall the experience he had this evening into the future and have a tish of PTSD? Where is that darn dog whisperer when I need him?  I would love to know what that smaller dog is going to think the next time the man says, "Let’s go for a walk!" I wonder – do dogs cuss? 🙂
