Last year Sara Lepp won a Hometown Hero award for for efforts in the 2009 flood fight. As you may recall, the agency she works for, FirstLink, handled the major information and volunteer management piece of the flood. It looks like she may be reprising that role again this year. I get tired just thinking about gearing up for that again, but Sara is already getting her ducks in a row.
Today is Sara’s birthday. I am not positive, but I think she is all of 27 today. I often forget how young she is because she is so fierce. I know I was not that fierce at 27.
So what can one giveto give to a fierce 27 year old who already has it all going on? I am thinking well-wishes for another spectacular year are about it. Alas, I am but one well-wisher and a Hometown Hero should get more wishes than that.
So a request to all of you out there today: If you can find time today to dash off a birthday well-wishes to Sara Lepp at saral@myfirstlink.org that would be fabulous. That seems like a fitting birthday tribute to a Hometown Hero who did so much for our community during the flood.
Thanks all ~ have a lovely Wednesday!
